About Me
Hi, I am Sharon Walker, Wife, Mother, and a lover of literacy. I am also an Educational Service Representative for Usborne Books and More Consultant. According to the International Literacy Association, there are 781 million people in the world who are either illiterate (cannot read a single word) or functionally illiterate (with a basic or below basic ability to read). Some 126 million of them are young people. That accounts for 12 percent of the world’s population. What can we do about it? We may not be able to do it all, but we can do our part in our community to stop illiteracy. So this is my part
MISSION
See every child with at least 100 books in their home
VISION
Create a love for reading in the lives of all children in my community
GOAL
To provide an opportunity for children to get Books in their homes thru fundraisers, personal home events, book fairs, etc.
